After a complete review, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), Government of India (GoI) published an Order under the Disaster Management Act, 2005, on the 1st of May, to further extend the Lockdown for an additional period of 2 weeks beyond May 4, 2020. MHA also announced new guidelines to manage various activities in this period, by risk profiling of the districts within the country into Red (hotspot), Green and Orange Zones. The guidelines have allowed substantial relaxations in the districts falling in the Green and Orange Zones

No separate permits will be needed from governments for activities already allowed to operate under the guidelines on COVID-19 (coronavirus) Lockdown rules up to May 3, 2020. The Standard Operating Protocols (SOPs) announced by MHA will continue to operate such as transportation arrangement for foreign national(s) in India; discharge of quarantine persons; traveling arrangements of stranded labor within States/ UTs, stranded migrant workers, travelers, tourists, students and other persons by road and rail.
